Liquid Thought was appointed to build a multi-platform tablet app for Sanlam’s 3000+ brokers. The key challenge was to port the existing, native iOS tablet app to a cross platform tablet app for iOS and Android.
This project required seamless migration of existing users and data, retention of all current app functionality, and the addition of new functionality to the app.
We used a Cordova framework to streamline the build process, allowing for the reuse of code across the iOS and Android versions.
The app integrated with the client’s existing data sources and provided additional functionality, including bespoke plugin integration with 3rd party PDF tools to allow for secure signature collection, encrypted data storage on brokers’ local devices, and syncing back to client servers.
The project was successfully executed and launched to Sanlam’s 3000+ brokers. The architecture designed for this project has been considered as a new design blueprint for mobile applications within the group going forward.
